Tempostand - Catchy name, great music site

Tempostand, founded by fresh college grads is a great effort, kudos to the guys for spurning high salaries of the corporate world and following their hearts. In a country like India that is not an easy option with so many social pressures. But I believe that true entrepreneurship cannot be achieved without the spirit getting into our academic DNA.

The portal features music of aspiring & independent musicians/singers/bands of all genres. I listened to some music on the web site and it is really VERY good. The content is covered by creative commons license which I guess is the first of its kind in India and is an interesting concept/experiment. You can download some of the songs and share / remix the work, only condition being that you attribute the original author and share the new work under the same kind of license.

The look and feel is that of a web 2.0 site and infact it is powered by Wordpress software. They also support/organize a lot of music events in colleges promoting budding bands. I also read somewhere that they are thinking of coming out with an album.

A great start to a well conceived idea, all the best.

Good site, its got some nice music, glad to see that independent & aspiring musicians are getting a platform.
