Should Facebook be charging users

Have not blogged for a while, so thought will get right back to it. At a recent catch up with friends over beer, we started discussing if facebook should start charging users to monetize instead of trying an ad based model. Well the opinions were 50-50 with some people feeling that facebook will loose its midas touch if it starts to charge. In Jan. when I started researching on Indian start ups, I thought of starting a blog. An aticle - "India 2.0" in San Jose Mercury news (one of the better newspapers in the the Silicon Valley) got my attention.
